BUYING AND UPGRADING INSTRUMENTS
All recommended instruments used by students are able to be sold on second hand to other students, making purchasing a suitable high quality instrument affordable for beginners.
EXAMPLE:
Purchase Price: $300 (your child uses for 1/1.5 years before needing to move up to the next size)
Sale Price: $260 (you sell directly to the next student via bank transfer. The $40 is deducted from the purchase price as instruments become more worn over time)
Only recommended instruments bought directly from another student can be resold as their quality is guaranteed. Purchasing a poor quality instrument off eBay for $100 will have a resale value of $0.
Many students have a collection of used books sitting at home. A great way to reuse this resource is to sell your old books secondhand to other students. Please see the information below regarding the selling and buying of secondhand books.
All secondhand books are kept at Forest Hill. Please contact to check if the book you are after is in stock and to arrange a time to come and view. If you wish to purchase a book you will need to send the owner a screen shot of the payment made via bank transfer before you take the book.
Please printout the secondhand book form, complete the form and insert in the front cover of the book you are wishing to sell. Leave the book at Forest Hill and you will receive a screen shot of the payment if/once the book sells. You may set the price relative to the condition you believe the book to be in. Please ensure all pencil markings are rubbed out before leaving the book to be sold.
